Pentia Plant Regulator

Pentia plant regulator: any variety, any field, any weather.

Pentia® plant regulator is the premier plant regulator for cotton today, working to consistently outperform traditional plant regulators with any variety, in any field, in any weather.

Pentia is designed for the business-minded grower who invests in the necessary inputs to maximize production and profit potential. It provides a level of consistency unmatched by other plant regulators on the market, resulting in early harvest benefits and the potential for more yield and net income.

Pentia incorporates innovative technology that allows the plant to efficiently and quickly use more of the product. In field trials across the Cotton Belt in 2003 and 2004, Pentia repeatedly outperformed traditional plant regulators. In the Delta, cotton treated with Pentia had 10% more open bolls in 1st and 2nd position - and yielded 57 more pounds of lint per acre than mepiquat chloride (summary of 51 consultant and university trials in AR, LA, MO, MS, TN). In the Southwest, cotton treated with Pentia had 22% more open bolls in 1st and 2nd position - and yielded 87 more pounds of lint per acre than mepiquat chloride (summary of 27 consultant and university trials in TX, OK, NM). In the Southeast, cotton treated with Pentia had 18% more open bolls in 1st and 2nd position - and yielded 58 more pounds of lint per acres than mepiquat chloride (summary of 58 consultant trials in Al, GA, NC, SC, VA).

Compared to traditional plant regulators, Pentia provides:
  • Faster uptake
  • Increased earliness
  • Improved rainfastness
  • Maximized net income potential
When should Pentia be used?

A successful cotton management program starts with Pentia. University and BASF research has shown improved yields and earliness when Pentia applications are initiated at pinhead* square. Because Pentia is more active than other products on the market, it ensures that a proper plant management strategy is established from the start.

*When cotton is between 20 inches and 30 inches tall and actively growing.

Pentia is not registered for use in California.
